Diamond Cosmetics - Matte Smoke

When I went flea-marketing the other day at the last minute, I needed something on my nails that was low maintenance and quick. I could’ve gone with the awesome one-coatedness of RBL Concrete Jungle, but I thought I’d take a matte for a spin for the first time…ever. See, I don’t like matte polishes. I ALWAYS add topcoat, no matter how strong my resolve to just LET. IT. BE. is every time I apply one. As much as the BF likes to tease me about me getting distracted by shiny, sparkly things…it’s kinda true. I always find myself fluttering my fingers and admiring the sparkle/shininess/shimmer/etc on my nails. WIth mattes, there’s no sparkle! Nothing interesting. I know it’s all edgy and everything, but I just am not into having non-shiny nails. That’s why I like stuff like the OPI DS polishes, and the Zoya mattes…they’re shimmery when matte, and when I inevitably break down and apply topcoat after 10 minutes, suddenly my SPARKLE!GLITTER!SHINY! craving is satisfied. So I’ve never actually made it out of the house with a real matte on my fingernails.

So anyway, the Diamond mattes really aren’t very matte, as matte polishes go, but that didn’t stop me from feeling all edgy and cool with my matte polish at the…flea market. :)

I didn’t much like the color of this one though, it’s got sort of a green tint to it.
