Today I swatched my new sheer French polishes for Li Lian. They’re…interesting! Here they are again: Pink Nude, Rose-Colored Glasses, and Innocence. OK, I’ll do these worst to best, and I left my ridiculously short ring finger bare because it would be ridiculous to add a white tip to my sad little nail, and also [...] I think this is my favorite type of french manicure. Also my favorite type of Konad, actually! A monochrome french tip with a wallpaper-like Konad pattern on top is just so delicate and pretty to me. Plate m71, the pinkish base is Revlon Always Sheer Bliss, and the white is Orly Softest White. I [...] And I finally found another Color Club collection, Pardon My French. This collection came out pre-obsession, so I didn’t know anything about it. It’s kinda…boring? I expect that any collection with “French” in the name should be intended for french manicures, right? And I…guess that’s what this is for? There’s one oddball super-light pink, and [...] Once again, sigh. How could I have forgotten to take pictures of this one in an unadorned state? Sad, cause this is a beautiful creme polish, I love it. First I used Konad plate m64 and made french tips. This is the first time I’ve tried using a full pattern plate in just a small area, [...] This is a design that’s so subtly Christmassy that I wouldn’t feel like an idiot walking around with it on my nails, but I would know that it was Christmas-themed, and it would holiday my mood right up! I used Love My Nails in Glazed Persimmon for the red, it’s got some subtle shimmer and is [...] I’m really not into sheers lately, but I quite like Glass Pink a lot. It’s nice and subtle, but it’s also seriously shimmery. No hope of opacity, of course.
I wanted to fancy this up a bit though so I added french tips in Sally Hansen VIP Pink, [...] Now, this isn’t a french, exactly, but it’s french-like. French-adjacent. I think it still counts for french week, because I’ve been wanting to do it for a while! flash! It’s an interesting look, and I used China Glaze Ravishing Dahling, which is a wonderful jelly-ish polish. no flash! I think you can see the full effect [...] Colored frenches = awesome! I bought these Avon and Maybelline colored french duos probably…15 years ago? They required quite a bit of thinning. I have two Maybelline Express Finish tip colors, but the matching sheers that I know I had at one point are mysteriously missing from my collection.
